DAY ) MEYDANCIK – MISIRLI – PAPART – ÇURUPİRA – MACAHEL
After waking up to a beautiful Şavşat morning, we set off to Macahel, an untouched geography, with a wonderful nature journey that will appeal to all our senses.
On the Green Road, which is our route, villages, streams, forests and plateaus are waiting for us, one by one, and we can walk as much as we want and cool off in the streams as much as we want.
During our rest in Meydancık village, we will meet with local people and listen to their experiences and stories. Afterwards, we go to Papart and Çurupra plateaus respectively via the green road. We eat the local dishes of Georgian cuisine prepared for us, accompanied by the view, at the peaks of the Churupira plateau, which is 100 meters away from our natural border with Georgia.
After the meal, our green journey continues, passing the villages of Macahel within the borders of Borcka and arriving at the hotel where we will stay. As a result of the referendum held in 1921, 12 of the 18 villages constituting the Macahel people preferred to stay on the Georgian side and 6 on the Turkish side. During our stay in Macahel, our guide will share with us detailed information on this subject, along with the experiences of the region.

DAY ) MACAHEL – MARAL WATERFALL – CAMİLİ VILLAGE – İREMIT MOSQUE – MACAHEL VILLAGES
Today we will enjoy Macahel on the day of Pleasure. We will start the day with a delicious and long local breakfast that we cannot find anywhere else.
Our first stop after breakfast is the 63-meter-high Maral Waterfall, which is the highest waterfall in Turkey falling from a single stream, with a magnificent visual of the streams coming from the Karçal mountains. In addition to enjoying the view from a front facing the waterfall, we can go down under the waterfall with those who want to. The descent is quite steep and you need to descend carefully. We benefit from the benefits of being in a group on the descent, which is mostly stairs with railings. Everyone helps each other. We invite the brave ones to the water, which is not actually cold but cools down due to the wind as it falls from very high up. We recommend that you do not miss this beauty that you cannot experience anywhere else. Our bodies, cooled by this experience, warm up as we climb the steep path we descended. On the way back, we have lunch at another nice place.
After dinner, we will visit the oldest mosque in the region. İremit Mosque is a place where wood craftsmanship and madder paints meet.A small but different mosque. We think that your admiration for this magnificent mosque will increase with the interesting and historical information that our guide will tell you.
Our next stop is Camili village on the Georgian border and the Georgian border gate located in the village. This border gate is full of stories, which is currently not allowed for normal citizens to use, but used to be used when the roads were closed due to heavy snowfall. Again, we visit the old wooden mosque that gave its name to the village of Camili. It is known that the mosque, which is mostly made of wood, was built in 1819. The mosque was destroyed by an avalanche in 1955, and the remaining parts were repaired and the local people repaired it with the timber they brought themselves and had it rebuilt by craftsmen from Arhavi. The restoration of the mosque was completed in 2018. At the same time, Macahel is included in the Biosphere Reserve area by UNESCO. Tema Foundation carries out special work for the region in order to protect the naturalness and famous honey of the Macahel Valley, which is the first and only biosphere reserve area of our country. We finish our day in this exquisite region and return to our hotel.
Accommodation: Macahel
DAY ) MACAHEL PASSAGE – BORÇA KARAGÖL – TEA FACTORY – RIZE-ARTVİN AIRPORT
We leave Macahel, an untouched geography that we believe will make a significant contribution to our quality of life, after a nice breakfast.
After setting off towards Borcka, we take a break for scenery and oxygen at the Macahel Pass. We hope to be able to take as many wonderful photos as the fog and clouds allow while enjoying the view.
Our next stop is Borçka Karagöl, which was formed after landslides. We take a nice walk around the lake with its wonderful view, taking lots of photos...
After our trip to Karagöl, we go to lunch.
After the meal, we go to the coastal road and go to the last stop of our trip, the Tea production facility or a nice tea shop that produces quality tea in the region. In workshops where we can see the stages that tea goes through, we learn the processes it goes through before it reaches our tables and the brewing methods of Black Sea tea by seeing it firsthand.
After our visit to the tea factory, unfortunately, we are heading to Rize Airport to see you off…
